Job Description:

TableCheck is Japan's leading restaurant reservation management platform. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data - Python Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of large language models (LLMs), artificial intelligence (AI), and data automation. They will be able to design and implement systems that use LLMs to automate tasks, improve efficiency, and generate insights.

Have you uploaded a model or dataset to Hugging Face? Participated in a Kaggle competition? Do you think existing models such as NHiTS and CatBoost are great for 95% of forecasting use-cases, and GPT-4 is good enough for most LLM tasks? Do you enjoy shipping products?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities include:

・Design and implement systems that use LLMs (both commercial and home-tuned) to automate tasks, improve efficiency, and generate insights.
・Work with data scientists and engineers to develop and deploy AI models.
・Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scope.
・Identify areas for enhancement and implement solutions to optimise data processing, data quality, and data management workflows.
・The drive to collaborate, gather feedback, solve problems, and tackle challenges through test and learn is highly valuable in this position.

Mandatory Skills

・Strong programming skills in Python. We advise at least 5 years of experience.

・Experience with OpenAI (and competitor) APIs.
・Proficient with PostgreSQL, Snowflake and similar data warehouses.
・Demonstrated ability to absorb information, manage your own time and commitments, achieve desired results in a highly technical environment.

Recommended Skills

・Previous startup experience is highly desired
・Experience with event streaming technologies such as Kafka
・Experience with MongoDB.

Language Skills

・A native level of English is required.

Evaluation Criteria

We will evaluate candidates based on the following stages:

・Initial interview - a one-on-one 15 minute chat over Google Meet to see if we're the right fit
・Technical interview - (virtually) meet the SRE team at TableCheck to evaluate your skills (no whiteboard or materials required)
・Take-home project - we will provide you with a 30-60 minute project, which will evaluate your dev and ops skills
